CODE II
Second COastal Dynamics Experiment
PROJECT DATES
05/17/1982 - 07/26/1982
Project Location
Sonoma County Airport, Santa Rosa, California
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The purpose of the Second COastal Dynamics Experiment (CODE II) project was to identify and study important dynamical processes that govern the wind-driven motion of coastal water over the continental shelf. Measurements of the wind field, momentum, heat and water vapor fluxes were collected using the QueenAir, B-80 aircraft to provide spatial information on the atmospheric forcing over the coast of Santa Rosa. A drifting buoy tracking experiment was also implemented to determine the ocean currents in the experimental area.
