TRACI

TRiple AirCraft Intercomparison

PROJECT DATES
07/02/1985 - 10/15/1985
Project Location
Boulder, Colorado
PROJECT DESCRIPTION

A Triple-Aircraft Intercomparison (TRACI) was flown on July 2 and October 15 of 1985. Both the B200T, King Air and the L-188 Electra aircrafts were flown using fixed vanes, while the Sabreliner, Model 60 was flown using a nose radome. Information obtained from this intercomparison was used to validate the Electra, using fixed vanes, as an acceptable standard for subsequent evaluation of the new King Air radome. In addition, the Sabreliner nose radome flow-sensing configuration was evaluated with data obtained from this intercomparison.

There is currently one flight online in netCDF format (the King Air flight on July 2nd). For access to the other 5 flights, or merge files, please contact the TRACI data manager (listed below).
