Request NCAR-managed Lower Atmosphere Observing Facilities

NCAR-managed Lower Atmosphere Observing Facilities (LAOF)

If you are a returning Principal Investigator familiar with the request process for NCAR-managed LAOF and seeking direct access to the request system, please proceed to the Project Requests Online system (PRESTO). 

To facilitate fundamental research in the atmospheric sciences, NSF/AGS supports state-of-the-art instruments and facilities through the  NSF Facilities for Atmospheric Research and Education (FARE) Program.  This program includes NCAR-managed Lower Atmosphere Observing Facilities (LAOF), which are available on a competitive basis to all qualified scientists from universities, NCAR, and other U.S. government agencies. Guidance on the proposal and facility request process is provided in the FIRP solicitation, with facility deployment determined by NSF.
